Bluemercury introduced a new line of makeup and hair care product and needed to reflect its application in ad photography. The wide variety of product in this line meant we had to showcase their uses individually and cohesively. To do this, we planned a full assortment of diverse shot types that would enhance the line as a whole.
SOLUTION & RESULTS
We arranged a two-day shoot on location at Bluemercury in Washington D.C. in order to successfully capture and dedicate time to each featured product. Setting up in one of their storefronts allowed us to fully take in Bluemercury's existing branding and how they present themselves to customers. We catered to their store's freshness and bold colors in our photos, even choosing to use their stocked aisles as backdrops in some instances. To diversify shot types, we focused on three main aspects: the product, the product in use, and the models having used the product. This allowed for tight close-ups of the merchandise, dynamic medium close-ups, and wide groupings. Together, all photos integrated with high-contrast and a flavorful color palette to be used in various branding applications.
